Best Gas Stove Brands in India (2026): 5 Compared on Warranty, Service and Real Value

Best gas stove brands in India

Most lists of the best gas stove brands are a row of logos with the same adjectives under each. This one asks a different question: when something breaks in year two, which brand makes it easy to get fixed? We compared spec sheets and warranty cards, read the BIS and BEE rules, and went through owner complaint boards. We did not lab-test any stove, and the section on how we picked these five spells out what that means.

Best gas stove brands in India: the short answer

The top gas stove brands in India for most households are Prestige (best all-rounder), Sunflame (heavy daily cooking), Glen (forged brass at a mid price), Elica (design-led kitchens) and Butterfly (budget and efficiency). Whichever you pick, read the warranty for your exact model. It changes more between models than between brands.

Some listings exclude burners and knobs

Prices are the latest figures we found, dated between June and September 2026 on price trackers, reseller sites and brand stores. They move often, so check the live price. Ignore the MRP: most of these stoves sell far below it. One Prestige listing showed an MRP of ₹12,395 against a selling price of ₹5,990.

Check these three things before you compare brands

1. The ISI mark

IS 4246 is the BIS standard for LPG stoves. It sets a minimum thermal efficiency of 68% per burner and covers safety tests such as gas soundness. The ISI mark shows the stove was certified against it. Piped gas has its own standard, IS 17153:2019, with a lower 50% efficiency floor. When the box arrives, look for the mark and a model number on the stove itself, not only on the listing.

2. The BEE star label (new in 2026)

Since 1 January 2026, domestic LPG stoves sold in India are meant to carry a BEE star label from one to five stars, based on thermal efficiency. The burner with the lowest efficiency sets the rating. One star starts at 68%. Five stars need 76% or more.

That gap is real money. For the same heat reaching your pot, a 68% stove burns about 12% more gas than a 76% one. That's arithmetic, not a lab result, and real kitchens vary.

Of the product pages we read for this article, only Butterfly's Shakti-range steel stoves showed a star rating, at 2 stars. The Bolt Shakti 3-burner is one of them. Ask the seller for the rating and look for the label on the box.

3. The warranty on the model, not the brand

The same brand sells stoves with very different cover. A few examples from the listings we read:

Brand

One model

Another model

Elica

Vetro 703: 1 year on the product and 2 on glass (one listing says 2 years product)

Vetro 773 CT DT: 2 years product, 7 years glass, 5 years burners

Glen

1038 series: 1 year product

1033 series: 2 years product. Both list 5 years on glass, valve and burner if you register online

Butterfly

Rapid: 1 year, and one listing excludes knob, legs, burner and gas assembly

Renz: 2 years, plus 5 on burner, glass and valve

Sunflame

Many glass models: 2 years on the product

Steel range: 2 years on the product, 5 on steel body, burner and valve

Listings even disagree with each other. One retailer shows the Butterfly Wave 3-burner with 5 years on the product, another with 2. When that happens, the warranty card in the box is the document that counts. Photograph it the day you open the box.

How we picked these five

We used four tests. Can you find and book service for the brand? Does the warranty cover the parts that actually fail, meaning burners, valves and glass, and not only the headline year? Are the specs worth the money (brass burners, glass thickness, valve quality)? And does a stove from the brand carry the ISI mark, with a clear route to the BEE star rating?

What we did: read brand pages and retailer spec sheets, the BIS standard summaries, the Ministry of Power star-label notification as summarised by compliance firms, and owner complaint boards. What we didn't do: cook on these stoves for months, measure efficiency, or visit service centres. Our picks are a judgment on published specs, warranty terms, service access and complaint patterns. Complaint boards over-represent unhappy buyers, so we used them to spot where problems land, not to estimate how often they happen.

1. Prestige: best all-rounder for most families

Start with the Royale Plus range. The 3-burner GT 03L has tri-pin brass burners and SABAF gas valves, manual ignition and a 2-year product warranty. Croma's listings add a separate warranty on the Schott glass, described as lifetime in the feature list and as 10 years in the warranty details, so confirm which one your card says. We saw it between ₹5,990 and ₹7,449.

Service is where Prestige earns the top spot. The company says it has service centres across India with home service as well as in-store support, runs a service locator on its shop site, and publishes a customer-care number (080-46824000). Owners still complain. Posts on IndiaCustomerCare describe glass cracking within weeks of purchase and replacement glass not arriving for a month because the spare wasn't in stock. Those boards lean toward unhappy buyers, so they tell you nothing about how common this is. They do show where the pain lands: spare parts.

Do this before buying any glass-top stove: ask the service centre in your city whether spare glass is in stock.

Skip it if price is your main filter. Glen and Butterfly cost less.

2. Sunflame: best for heavy daily cooking

Sunflame's steel-body range is the one we'd point a big family toward. The 4-burner SSS model uses a single-piece 2 mm brushed stainless steel body, forged brass burners (one super-big, two big and one small) and a brass gas valve. Warranty is 2 years on the product and 5 years on the steel body, burners and valve. No glass top also means one fewer part that can shatter.

Sunflame says it has more than 240 service centres across India and offers doorstep service. That's the company's own claim, so confirm it for your pincode. If you want glass, the Zenial 4-burner has 8 mm toughened glass, 5 years on glass and valve and 2 years on the full product. The brand store lists it at ₹10,490 against a ₹13,990 MRP. We couldn't find one reliable current price for the steel range, so check the live listing. The Maleo 4-burner is marked as PNG compatible.

The catch: the 5 years is split by part. It covers the body, burners and valve, not everything.

Skip the steel range if you want a slim, glossy glass look. Steel shows water marks.

3. Glen: forged brass at a mid price

Glen's 1033 series is the value pick. The 3-burner has forged brass burners (high flame, big and small), 8 mm toughened glass, 4 mm pan supports, a double drip tray, and a 360-degree revolving gas inlet so the hose can be routed to suit your kitchen. A price tracker recorded the manual 3-burner at ₹4,999 on Amazon in July 2026.

The listed cover is 2 years on the product and 5 years on glass, valve and burners, applicable on online registration. Register the day it arrives. The 1038 series lists 1 year on the product with the same 5-year parts cover, and Croma's listing says it can be converted to PNG on request.

What we couldn't find is a published service-centre count. Put your pincode into Glen's locator, or call, before you order.

Skip it if you depend on a nearby service centre and can't confirm one.

4. Elica: best for design-led kitchens

The Vetro 3-burner pairs a toughened glass top with a stainless steel body, one jumbo, one medium and one small brass burner (forged brass on the Crown DT series), euro-coated grids and double drip trays. A reseller listed it at ₹3,799 in June 2026. The 773 CT DT version carries 2 years on the product, 7 on the glass and 5 on the burners. That 7-year glass cover is second only to Prestige's among these five.

Elica's Indian arm, Elica PB India, is based in Pune, and its listings give a customer-care email ([email protected]). We couldn't find a published service-centre count here either.

The catch: Elica sells several near-identical Vetro models with different warranties. Match the model number on the box to the warranty before you pay.

5. Butterfly: best budget and efficiency pick

Butterfly Gandhimathi Appliances is a listed company with its registered office near Kanchipuram. The Rapid 3-burner glass top was last seen around ₹3,100, and another 3-burner glass model was listed near ₹4,040. The Renz 3-burner adds 8 mm glass, Copreci valves and HR-coated brass burners, with 2 years on the product and 5 on burner, glass and valve. The Shakti-range steel stoves, such as the Bolt Shakti 3-burner, carry a 2-star BEE rating on their listings.

Warranty is where Butterfly needs care. A price-comparison listing for the Rapid says its 1-year cover excludes knobs, legs, burner and gas assembly, which are exactly the parts that wear. Check that against the card in the box. Read the card before you assume a 5-year claim covers what you care about.

Skip it if you want a long, all-parts warranty without reading the fine print.

Glass or steel? The part most guides skip

Glass tops look good and wipe clean in seconds. They're also what people complain about. The BIS gas stove standard includes a thermal shock test for tempered glass: the glass is heated with the burners, then cooled with water. Even so, complaint boards carry shattering stories for Prestige, Glen and Sunflame alike. Treat that as a category risk, not a verdict on one brand. The pattern worth noticing is the wait afterwards. One Sunflame owner described waiting on an approval for replacement glass while still under the 2-year warranty.

What helps:

  • Pick 8 mm glass over 6 mm where you can. The models we compared range from 6 to 8 mm.
  • Never put a cold or wet pan on a hot glass top, and never splash water on it.
  • Consider a steel body, such as Sunflame's SSS range or Butterfly's Bolt Shakti, if you cook for hours every day.

Which of these top gas stove brands should you buy?

  • Couple, PG or small kitchen: a 2-burner, such as Butterfly's Renz or Prestige's Royale Plus GT 02, so you don't pay for counter space you don't have.
  • Family of 3 to 5, glass top, want easy service: Prestige Royale Plus 3-burner.
  • Big family, daily high-flame cooking: Sunflame steel 4-burner.
  • Mid budget, want forged brass and thick glass: Glen 1033 series, registered online on day one.
  • Rental or tight budget, or you care about efficiency labels: Butterfly, with the exact model's warranty card checked first.

If you cook on piped gas, confirm PNG compatibility before ordering. Some models convert on request, some ship ready, and the cheapest ones may not convert at all.

Other gas stove brands in India we left out

Sujata offers SABAF valves and a 9-year warranty, but one review site lists its 2-burner at ₹9,684, which is a lot for a niche pick. Faber, Bosch and KAFF lean toward premium and built-in hobs. Pigeon and Lifelong sell mostly in the entry-level, online-first segment, and we didn't research them deeply enough to rank them. We'll revisit them in the next update.

Buying checklist: seven checks before you pay

  1. Buy from the brand's own store or an authorised seller, then find the ISI mark and the model number on the stove itself.
  2. Ask for the BEE star rating and look for the label on the box. More stars mean less gas for the same cooking.
  3. Match the model number to the warranty card, note what the card excludes, and photograph it.
  4. Make sure the listing says brass burners. On a glass top, prefer 8 mm glass.
  5. Enter your pincode in the brand's service locator, then call and ask whether burners and glass are in stock locally.
  6. Register the warranty online the same day if the brand asks for it. Glen's 5-year cover does.
  7. Confirm LPG or PNG, and have a technician do any conversion.

Use it safely

The government's PMUY safety pledge asks LPG users to switch the regulator off when the stove isn't in use, keep the stove on a raised platform above the cylinder's level, check weight and leaks when a cylinder is delivered, and have the installation inspected every 5 years by an authorised mechanic. If you smell gas, switch off the regulator, avoid touching electrical or battery-operated equipment, and call 1906, the 24-hour LPG emergency helpline.

FAQ

What are the best gas stove brands in India?

For most households, Prestige is the safest all-round pick because it publishes service access and a long glass warranty. Sunflame suits heavy cooking, Glen suits mid budgets, Elica suits design-led kitchens, and Butterfly suits tight budgets. The right brand depends on your model's warranty and your city's service.

Which gas stove brand has the best service?

We can't prove service quality from desk research. Prestige and Sunflame publish the most about it: Prestige a service locator and home service, Sunflame a claimed 240-plus centres. Check any brand's centre for your pincode and call to ask about spares before you buy.

Do gas stoves sold in India need the ISI mark?

LPG stoves are certified by BIS against IS 4246, and the BEE star-label rules require a valid BIS licence. Look for the ISI mark on the stove, whatever the brand. If it has no mark or model number, take it up with the seller before you use it.

Is a 3-burner or 4-burner stove better?

A 3-burner fits most families of three to five, covering dal, sabzi and rice at once. Choose 4 burners for large families or frequent hosting, if your counter fits the extra width.

Is auto-ignition worth paying for?

It adds a part that can fail, so manual ignition is the simpler choice. If you choose auto-ignition, keep a lighter in the kitchen as backup.

Is a 5-star BEE stove worth it?

On paper, yes: a 76%-efficient stove uses roughly 10% less gas than a 68% one for the same cooking. But few product pages show the star rating yet, so ask the seller and check the label on the box.

Can I use an LPG stove on piped gas?

Not automatically. Piped gas runs at lower pressure and needs different parts, such as the injector jets. Buy a stove sold for PNG or one the maker lists as convertible.

Bottom line

The best gas stove brands on this list earn their place on service access and parts cover, not on the brand name alone. Pick the one that fits how you cook, then let your exact model's warranty card and the service centre in your city make the final call. Before you pay, look for the ISI mark and the BEE star label, and ask about spare parts.
